Protection period and annual fee payment

The validity of the right to protect new varieties of crops is 20 (twenty) years, except for special crops such as vines and wood crops, which must be 25 (twenty-five) years after receiving the protection right on New varieties of that crop.

The payment of the annual validation fee for the right to protect new varieties of crops shall be determined by a joint proclamation of the Minister of Economy and Finance and the Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation.
