The Department of Intellectual Property under the direct management and direction of the General Department of Business Services has the following roles and responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Secretariat of the National Committee for Intellectual Property Management
\nCooperate and encourage relevant ministries to compile and implement intellectual property laws in line with Cambodia’s commitment to become a member of the World Trade Organization.
\nCooperate with relevant ministries to receive and use technical assistance related to intellectual property from international organizations and countries
\nResponsible for coordinating bilateral or multilateral cooperation in the field of intellectual property with other countries and international organizations.
\nCollaborate to disseminate laws and regulations and intellectual property knowledge to the public, educational institutions and law enforcement officers
\nResponsible for and co-develop the following laws and regulations related to intellectual property:
\nTrademarks and acts of dishonest competition
\nCommodity geographical markers
\nProtection of Business Confidential Information
\nTransfer of license and business license
\nOther intellectual property is the responsibility of the Ministry of Commerce.
\nRegister trademarks and geographical marks, as well as record the licensing and licensing of trademarks.
\nIssue a letter of recognition of the exclusive rights of the trademark in accordance with the law and at the request of the legal trademark owner
\nCooperate with provincial and municipal departments of commerce to receive applications for registration and resolve disputes over trademarks and geographical markers.
\nResolve disputes related to intellectual property, which is the responsibility of the Ministry of Commerce
\nCollaborate with competent authorities and the judiciary to stop intellectual property infringement
\nCreate and maintain a website to disseminate laws and regulations as well as registered intellectual property data
\nParticipate in researching international agreements and conventions related to intellectual property and consider the national interest in joining such agreements or conventions.
\nPromote the trade in intellectual property and the evaluation of intellectual property, which is the responsibility of the Ministry of Commerce
